The Lowcountry Classic III "Scholarship Benefit Concert" Featuring Mary J. Blige
SC State’s announces that Mary J. Blige will headline The Lowcountry Classic III “Scholarship Benefit Concert.” One of the greatest singers of all time, Mary J. Blige has helped to redefine R&B, and more importantly, been an artist that uses her gift to lift spirits, touch lives and bring her heart, soul and truth to those who are willing to listen.
The “Scholarship Benefit Concert” will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the North Charleston Coliseum. Tickets for the event go on sale on Friday, August 15, 2008 at 10 a.m. They are available for purchase from the North Charleston Coliseum Box Office or TicketMaster.The “Scholarship Benefit Concert,” is part of SC State’s Lowcountry Classic III week-end (September 12-13); when the SC State ‘Bulldogs’ take on the Bethune-Cookman ‘Wildcats’. The football game begins at 4 p.m. at the Johnson Hagood Stadium in Charleston, S.C.

The purpose of this event is to engage all Low Country Classic III supporters in the President's Health Initiative, which is based on th importance of having a healthy lifestyle.
Transportation to and from the bridge will be provided. Assemble in the lobby of the Charleston Marriott Hotel at 5:30 a.m.
